The Last of Us: Part 2 Sculpts: Rocks

-I love sculpting natural elements, it gives me an excuse to fire up ZBrush and reminds me that I come from the mountains of the Pacific Northwest.

-A Simple rock sculpt leads to a better result in game, we try to leave out mico-details because we have way more flexibility with scale and material blends, so while they look pretty basic, they work way better as a final product and can work with size-aware materials at almost any size.

-One of the rocks was purposely sculpted from a rough wolf-shape as a form of foreshadowing. We disguised it more as a rock, once I did my material and snow pass. Maybe Adrian and myself did too good of a job camouflaging it in the final product.

-The flat rock was created so the players can easily clamber onto and off of them, both are meant to be use-able in 360 degrees for variety.
These rocks were primarily used as building blocks that the modelers could then use in levels like Tracking and Patrol, which can be seen in some of my other galleries.
